The purpose of KharagpurOnline is to make it a common forum for all residents and denizens of Kharagpur. It will be a self governed site where everyone can post their ideas, views, comments in any subjects.
Another aspect of launching this site is to take Kharagpur to the global arena. It may be a small town, but it has potential to become a big future city. The industrial belt near National Highway (NH6) of Kharagpur may help to fulfill the dreams.
Apart from that, this site will capture every part of the town, the famous Kharagpur IIT, the railways settlement, small places like Nimpura, Khapetapur, Talbagicha, Inda, traffic, vidyasagarpur, Subhaspally, Peerbaba, Kharida, Malancha etc. This site will also capture the shopping places, the bazaars, the religious places, the pulses of our own town.
To make it a success, we all have to take some initiative. Please post, give comments and write back your feedback to KaragpurOnline. We want to make it a forum which will be independent of political/race/religious flavors. Admin will keep the right to delete ambiguous comments.
The prime focus of this site is to portray Kharagpur and its neighborhoods. So in that sense it is not a commercial site, but we want to keep that option open for better maintenance of KharagpurOnline and to grow in web sphere.
We need energetic volunteers for KharagpurOnline, who are based on Kharagpur. Since it is not a commercial site we will not be able to pay, but we are looking for enthusiastic people from the town and IIT who can shape this site.
